Paula Caceres
Period 3
5/26/11

This year in art class, I completed three interesting projects. Each project was fun and interesting to do. They took a little bit of time, but overall the ripping, cutting, painting, and sketching it was worth the time.
My First completed project was the book. It was hard to complete, because it involved sewing in it. First I had to punch holes in it, and then I use the cotton thread to sew it together along with paper in it. The hot glue gun was used to put pieces in to support the cover. Then the design for the cover was pasted as well.
My second project was a piƱata. This project was my favorite piece to complete. I started of first blowing up a balloon, and then I sketched what I wanted to turn my balloon into. I Sketched Hello Kitty. After I did that, I cut strips of paper, soaked them in water mixed with glue. This was paper Mache. So as I soaked the paper Mache in, I pasted it to the balloon. Once it was dried of, I started to paint it. The colors that I used were white, red black, and yellow. It was a long process. But I enjoyed making it.
My third project was a collage. This was the easiest out of all three. I pasted random pictures together, but at the same time it had meanings to me, for examples things that I liked or things that I thought went together.
The similarities of these projects are that it’s all things that I like. It means something to me. They took a long process to make, and you had to be patient with it. The differences about the three projects were that they were all different materials to used to complete them, some took more time to complete, then the others.
Overall the work that was put into these projects they were interesting and exciting to do. I learned a lot, and hope to keep learning from these projects.
